In general, there are "a lot" of negative things going on in my life right now. It seems nearly impossible to find a job, I'm having some minor health issues, things with Sean's family are still hard, personal hardships are going on with my extended family, and so on and so forth, and it just seems as if I'm living in a rut sometimes. My mom and I were talking yesterday about how easy it is to want to just vent all day about how everything in your life sucks... but you can't do that. You have to put on a happy face and live the life you're given with a positive mindset. Somebody somewhere has it worse than you do. You have to choose joy and happiness! You have to make sure that you're not focusing on the bad, but on the blessings that God has given you. Sometimes that's tough to remember, but once you try it gets easier and easier!

So when the rain comes... just put on some comfy clothes and step back, in your socks, for a little perspective. It'll get better!

Back during Easter I wore my favorite floral dress from ASOS. It's black with a beautiful lavender flower print across the entire thing, and a subtle skater silhouette. I really love it. Thank you ASOS petite section for fitting so well!

Sometimes I buy items that I'm so obsessed with that they sit in my closet cus I want to "save them" for the perfect occasion... and then months later the season has changed and I feel like I've missed my opportunity to wear it! I think an important thing to do is to learn how to adjust your wardrobe, through layering, for any type of weather. I've been wanting to winterize this dress with some accessories and cozier pieces so I can get more use out of it. Knee high socks and a statement necklace tied the entire ensemble together.
