The other day when I walked into work and saw our new arrivals, it was love at first sight. This floral cape, with it's muted, vintage pattern and long silhouette screamed my name. I needed to add it to my wardrobe! I paired it with some leather leggings and sparkly booties, and put together my perfect Valentine's Day ensemble. So much love!

Tomorrow Sean and I are going to Boone for a couple days. We're both bringing all of our new snowboarding gear and shreddin' pow for the week, while his mom stays inside and works puzzles and enjoys the scenery! I'm so excited. I love that sleepy, snowy town and all the fun it holds. Crisp air, coffee, coziness, winter weather, hot tubs, warm fires, snow caped mountains and gorgeous views. I'm really looking forward to it. Relaxation with my man! What could be better?

Happy Saturday!

Back To Boone.

Last night at my bible study we discussed our "patterns" for the upcoming year. It might sound a little different, but one thing that they have been focusing on at church is getting rid of setting goals. Goals can be tough. While they are great in many ways, sometimes they can be unrealistic and hard to achieve, and occasionally they can leave you feeling defeated and disappointed. We talked about how beginning a new year shouldn't be about setting goals for oneself that you aren't sure whether or not you'll reach, but about changing and gaining patterns. For example, if you say you're a night owl, but you've never tried to adjust your routine and become a morning person, of course that is the pattern that your body is used to. We discussed how picking a word to focus on for the year can be helpful when it comes to changing your patterns and your lifestyle. It can help you remember what to focus on, and help your focus remain on Him.
My two words for the year are patience and community.

Patience in waiting on God to show me the path for my life. Patience in the hardships. Patience in waiting for the right job. Patience in waiting on the perfect timing for marriage to Sean. Patience in making moves and improving myself.

Community will remind me to branch out and meet new people. It will help me remember that God didn't create me to sit alone and only have my family and Sean as my friends, but he made me for a purpose. He made me to be a friend to others, and for others to be a friend to me when I need them. Community will help my relationships grow and thrive.

What are your words and patterns for 2015?

Back during Easter I wore my favorite floral dress from ASOS. It's black with a beautiful lavender flower print across the entire thing, and a subtle skater silhouette. I really love it. Thank you ASOS petite section for fitting so well!

Sometimes I buy items that I'm so obsessed with that they sit in my closet cus I want to "save them" for the perfect occasion... and then months later the season has changed and I feel like I've missed my opportunity to wear it! I think an important thing to do is to learn how to adjust your wardrobe, through layering, for any type of weather. I've been wanting to winterize this dress with some accessories and cozier pieces so I can get more use out of it. Knee high socks and a statement necklace tied the entire ensemble together.

The lighting on thanksgiving night was a spectacular, sherbet colored backdrop. Right when I saw the sun hitting the autumn leaves outside my front door, I grabbed the camera, a blanket, and my twin sister and I ran out into the street to take some head shots, just for fun! It was cold and windy, but we always have a good time doing anything artsy and creative.

That morning I had put on a new dove flash tattoo, just for a little golden detail. Have ya'll tried them yet? I think they're my new favorite accessory. They're so simple and yet they look so feminine and pretty... and flashy!

Another casual, coffee- date outfit post... can you believe it?? I also wanted an excuse to wear the new Nike sneaks that I got for my birthday! Ha.

Obviously you have all noticed these types of looks are my favorite! The other day I asked my twin sister, "What can I wear on my blog to make my outfits more popular and more similar to other well known blogs?" and one thing I realized was that my ensembles aren't super girly! Most popular bloggers are decked out in monograms, bell skirts and frilly detailing. I love those looks, and I do get dressed up in skirts and dresses from time to time, but on an everyday basis I lean towards casual looks! In the future I'm going to try and dress up my ensembles a little more! What do ya'll think I should add to my wardrobe routine? I'd love to hear your suggestions!

Side note: New Charlotte local coffee obsession.  FABO Coffee & Art Bar off of Park Road. Delicious, affordable & a great atmosphere! I'd definitely recommend it!

The other day my friend Lauren and I went to Luna's Living Kitchen, here in Charlotte, for a healthy lunch date! Oh my goodness, ya'll. This place was just so delicious! I ordered the Lunasagna, made with sundried tomato, mushroom and vegan basil cashew cheese, and Lauren got a vegan burrito. We also split a Flying Lucy smoothie, made with lemonade and ginger, and ordered homemade chai lattes as a dessert! Absolutely heavenly. If you live in Charlotte, it's a must try!
