This week I had the phenomenal opportunity to work with Chris Zimmerman, a local photographer here in Charlotte. He has an amazing way of making studio work artsy, earthy and totally comfortable. He played good music and made me feel right at home, even when I felt awkward. All of his work is absolutely amazing and edited to perfection! I was blown away when I saw them. Obsessed!

Okay, you guys...

Let's just take a moment to discuss the elephant in the room.... that's printed on my shirt from Urban Outfitters. Ha! Aren't I hilarious? Usually I save this shirt for warmer weather, but based on my recent looks I decided to throw a little color and pattern into the mix. I love purple and gold. Go Pirates!

Today my mom and I went out to Tupelo Honey for lunch. After I went there a week or two ago with Sean I raved about how delicious it was and knew my mom would love it. I ordered a gluten free veggie melt with goat cheese grits. Can you say heaven on a plate? Yum! Then we met up with my older sister to take my nephew to see the movie Frozen. It was so cute! I loved the singing. I'm a huge musical fan, so I really enjoyed it! Maybe I'll buy the soundtrack? Who else loves Idina Menzel?

We had such a fun, simple day. Nothin' better than a few wholesome activities to make you thankful! Here's what I wore for a day of lunch, movies and family time. Happy Martin Luther King Day!

I usually go into a new year not thinking about all of the things I'm going to miss, but looking forward to everything that I'm going to gain! It's very exciting. A new year is an empty page in your book!

Each year arrives with new opportunities, places, plans, life changes, adventures and friends... You never know who's going to cross your path! So as I step into 2014 I'm thankful for all the loved ones I already have, and all the people I'm going to meet in the near future.

Here are two gorgeous Bostonians, one that's a new friend and one that I've clearly known forever, that I'm so happy to have in my life! We had tons of fun styling and shooting together. I love them both!
Aren't they beautiful? Line up, gents. What is your favorite thing about moving into a new year?

Looking Forward.

Although I've never visited this time of year, I know from movies, friends and family, The Today Show, and pictures, that there is nothing more magical than Christmas in NYC. The magnificent Rockefeller Center tree, wreaths and lights illuminating sky high buildings, ice skating rinks, steaming hot chocolate, heavy snow fall and festive songs... It sounds amazing!

So while I sit here in North Carolina, with my beautiful tree but not-so-festive 70 degree weather, I will daydream about Christmas time in New York...

"We're on a flight to JFK
It's like this plane is Santa's sleigh
In an hour we'll hop a train to Manhattan
We'll leave our bags up in the room
Make our way down 5th Avenue
Baby, tonight it's lookin like magic
A wonderland painted white
All lit up by a million lights
There is no place I'd rather be
Spending Christmas in the city
Oh look the Rockefeller tree
It's so much bigger than we thought it'd be.
Excuse me sir, would you mind taking our picture?
A carriage ride through the park
It feels so perfect, arm in arm.
Baby, we'll find some place warm when it's over..."

I don't know the exact reason for it... maybe it's because I'm only 4'10, or maybe it's just part of my DNA, but I have crooked knees. Yep, it's a fact.

I'm sure you've noticed, and you're probably just too nice to comment on them, so thank you. Ever since we were little my twin sister and I were cursed with these crooked caps. Combine funny knees with short legs and you have one dynamic duo! This leads to knee-high boots, which would usually hit at the appropriate place on a normal sized human being, covering up our little petite calves entirely. While it definitely isn't the most figure flattering look, there's no escaping it!

Many of you know I have a crazy love of boots, 13 pairs currently sit in my closet, but because of this goofy knee conundrum, ankle and combat boots are my usual choice. So just to switch it up a little bit, here are some street style shots debuting my beloved Piperlime camel colored riding boots. Hiding my knees but not hindering my style!
