"I'm restless. Things are calling me away. My hair is being pulled by the stars again."

This Thursday I'm leaving for Boston to visit my twin sister! If you don't remember from earlier this year, I had a trip planned a couple months ago to visit Laura, and the week that I was supposed to leave I was struck down with a killer kidney stone. So now, finally, I am going on the trip I've been looking forward to all year!

Boston holds a special place in my heart. Not just because my sister lives there, but because I lived there for 3 months. The history, the architecture, the food, the shopping... it's a magical place. I love how you can wake up in Boston and step outside your door to find the city awake and alive. It's almost electric! It has a cozy, homey, cultural feeling, while still filling you with the excitement and thrill that a big city always does! The atmosphere sends a current through you, feeling even more realistic with the hum of the T under your feet, sending you into coffee shops, bookstores, and breakfast spots galore. You can hunker down in the public library with your novel of choice, or go out for an authentic Italian feast with close friends.

I'm so, so excited to be back in Beantown! Hugging my twin, and exploring new spots that she's come to call her own over the last year. Cheers to Boston!

Here's a look back at a few Boston style files...

Yesterday, while doing an hour of cardio at the YMCA and watching Pretty Little Liars, I started day-dreaming about sweets. Surprising right? I tend to think about food the most when I'm exercising. Oops.

One of my favorite things is a chocolate croissant. Man how I miss that decadent goodness. Flaky, buttery, sweet... yum. Nothing better than starting the day with chocolate!

I was working away, feeling the burn, when I remembered one of my favorite breakfast places here in Charlotte, Cast Iron Waffles. Not exactly a chocolate croissant, but just as delicious. My mom and sister and I used to go there all the time before I realized I have a gluten intolerance, and I was so sad to say goodbye to it! Feeling hopeful, I decided to look up their menu once I left the Y to see if they added any gluten free waffles... It was a sign from heaven!! They expanded their menu, and my heart expanded with joy. I told my mom the minute I walked in the door that we needed to go there the next morning!

So here's a little peak into my early morning waffle adventure. No makeup, no stress, messy hair, extra nutella, and a soy almond joy latte.

Happy Monday, trendsetters! I hope you had a fantastic weekend! It flew by, don't you think? I'm ready for a new week, a fresh start and a heaping helping of motivation!

A couple weeks ago I entered into an Instagram contest with Maude Boutique where I had to "share to win" a photo of a cute top and beanie they were giving away. Low and behold, a couple days later I figured out I won! I never win anything, so I was super excited!

Even though they're based out of Arkansas, Maude Boutique definitely has fashion any girl, from any city, would love to hang in their closet. I first heard about them from Leslie via A Blonde Ambition when I worked as her intern, and then I started seeing their clothing on countless blogs I follow. They are trendy, funky, and perfect for women of all ages. The top they sent me is just too adorable, and the beanie (which you saw two posts back) is a go-to accessory.

So while sometimes I complain that "OMG I have nothing (absolutely nothing) to wear"... which is never true... today was not one of those days! I had my adorable Maude Boutique top, and I loved styling it.

These last few days have been a little crazy. Last Thursday I took a spur of the moment trip to Greenville to visit my boyfriend! He hasn't been able to come home yet with everything that's going on, so when I heard that my neighbor was making the trek down to ECU in the snow, I decided to go along with her to save money on gas and see the love of my life!
It was a low key weekend. All we did was relax, watch movies, cook comfort food, eat way too much,  sip on coffee, play in the snow, hug on Cubbie and hug on each other. I missed him so much! While I was there we started watching the Netflix series House of Cards and instantly got hooked! This show is seriously amazing. You need to check it out! It's intense, sarcastic, and a crazy unique perspective on politics. We already have less than half left before we get through the whole first season.

Monday night I got home from Greenville, ate dinner, caught up with my parents, and then went straight to sleep. Tuesday I had a big interview with a company I've been in contact with for a couple weeks now, located about 2 hours outside of Charlotte. I went to my interview, which was way shorter than I imagined, and then changed into comfortable clothes and treated myself to a delicious lunch for one in the middle of downtown.
The whole interview/meet-and-greet experience didn't go as I expected it to, but it was definitely an adventure that made me stronger! If you wanna hear God laugh, tell him your plan, right? That's my favorite quote these days! This one is pretty legit, too...
Sorry for the lack of posts this week! I've been busy, as you can see. What have you been up to lately?

Happy Thursday, trendsetters! Aren't you glad it's almost the weekend? I don't know if it's just because everyone left to go back to school and work, but this has seemed to be such a slow week. I'm already counting down the days until I'll have friends in town again! Bring on spring!

Anywho, today I wasn't feeling that great so I just made some coffee, stayed in my pajamas for a little too long, caught up on Food Network, read my favorite blogs and ran a couple errands. Oh the life of the unemployed!

Since my day to day routine isn't anything extravagant, I usually don't get too dolled up. I'm sure you've noticed that I'm not an uber "girly girl." I don't wear skirts and dresses just because I can. Don't get me wrong, I love them and I think they look super hot and adorable, but I would much rather save them for a fancy occasion or a date night. I tend to stick with pants and shorts as my go-to! Comfort is key. Many people say that you have to choose between fashion and feeling comfortable, but I definitely think there can be a solid mix of both! Here's how I mixed some style with a look of relaxation, muted makeup and some sparklin' kicks...

Top, J.Crew. Jacket, Urban Outfitters. Gingham Button Down, Forever 21. Yankees Cap, Vintage. Denim, Abercrombie. Shoes, Old Navy.

What are your thoughts? Do you think you have to choose between looking trendy and feeling at ease? Shoot a comment back at me!
