Yesterday, while doing an hour of cardio at the YMCA and watching Pretty Little Liars, I started day-dreaming about sweets. Surprising right? I tend to think about food the most when I'm exercising. Oops.

One of my favorite things is a chocolate croissant. Man how I miss that decadent goodness. Flaky, buttery, sweet... yum. Nothing better than starting the day with chocolate!

I was working away, feeling the burn, when I remembered one of my favorite breakfast places here in Charlotte, Cast Iron Waffles. Not exactly a chocolate croissant, but just as delicious. My mom and sister and I used to go there all the time before I realized I have a gluten intolerance, and I was so sad to say goodbye to it! Feeling hopeful, I decided to look up their menu once I left the Y to see if they added any gluten free waffles... It was a sign from heaven!! They expanded their menu, and my heart expanded with joy. I told my mom the minute I walked in the door that we needed to go there the next morning!

So here's a little peak into my early morning waffle adventure. No makeup, no stress, messy hair, extra nutella, and a soy almond joy latte.

Happy Monday, trendsetters! I hope you had a fantastic weekend! It flew by, don't you think? I'm ready for a new week, a fresh start and a heaping helping of motivation!

A couple weeks ago I entered into an Instagram contest with Maude Boutique where I had to "share to win" a photo of a cute top and beanie they were giving away. Low and behold, a couple days later I figured out I won! I never win anything, so I was super excited!

Even though they're based out of Arkansas, Maude Boutique definitely has fashion any girl, from any city, would love to hang in their closet. I first heard about them from Leslie via A Blonde Ambition when I worked as her intern, and then I started seeing their clothing on countless blogs I follow. They are trendy, funky, and perfect for women of all ages. The top they sent me is just too adorable, and the beanie (which you saw two posts back) is a go-to accessory.

So while sometimes I complain that "OMG I have nothing (absolutely nothing) to wear"... which is never true... today was not one of those days! I had my adorable Maude Boutique top, and I loved styling it.

When I was little my family used to go pick out a real Christmas tree together every year. We would all pile into the car, make our way to the tree lot, and search until we found the right one. My parents always had the final say, but it was the tradition and festivity that we loved most! The smell of the fresh pine, the cool air that made your cheeks rosy and flushed, and the adventure of finding the star of the show was just so exciting to us.

As all the kids grew older and the mystery of the holiday faded just a little bit,  my parents decided to get a fake tree for our home. Looking at it from an adult perspective, I can definitely see how it is easier and much more practical. I really don't mind our fake tree! It is just as beautiful, just as magical, and just as fun as a regular tree... but I know that once I get my own house I will fall back to the real ones! I want to start the same tradition with my children that I enjoyed when I was young. I still get excited when I see a parking lot filling up with twinkle lights and trees of all different shapes and sizes, like I saw today! The holidays are upon us, and I'm soaking up every little minute of it!
