Have ya'll been watching the Olympics lately? My mom and I have been glued to the TV almost every night watching the winter games. Our favorites are snowboarding and figure skating! Some of the tricks and spins they do absolutely blow my mind! I can't get over it. Oh and what about the ski jump? How do you even train for something like that? I would pee my pants sitting on the edge of those ramps, wouldn't you? It's just insane! Oh how I love the Olympics... especially sitting by my warm fire with some blueberry crisp and coffee.

It's a little ironic that right now, while it's a balmy 60 degrees in Sochi, it's blizzarding here in the South. We're expected to get almost a foot of snow, which we haven't seen in 10 years. So when the snowflakes started swirling, covering the grass and frosting the trees, I decided to put together an Olympics inspired ensemble. Go team USA!

One of my favorite trends this season is winter white. I've always loved monochromatic ensembles, regardless of the weather outside. White on white, black on black, pink on pink... color blocking never fails to impress. These looks are perfect with a pop of lipstick, a patterned bag, bold accessories, bright shoes or any little decoration you can find in your closet.

Today I paired a totally white (or variations of...) ensemble with dollhouse pink lips and deep caramely brown accents. I added a chunky jeweled bracelet and my Target leopard socks for some added texture. It was casual, comfortable and perfect for lounging around with a homemade latte.

What do you think? How do you like to wear your winter white?

One trend that is super hot for fall 2013 is black and white, and with my new job at Kate Spade it seems as if every single item I've been drawn to lately has fallen victim to this new fad!
The thing that I love most about this trend is how versatile it is. You can mix this newspaper palette with caramel browns, army greens, hot pinks, vibrant reds, burnt oranges, Tiffany blues... pretty much any color you already have in your closet. Walk into Forever 21 or Madewell in the next few weeks and I can promise you that the walls will be decked out in black and white. That's what the style is this season, ladies! Embrace this salt and pepper chicness, and stock up your wardrobe.

Here are some fun black and white pieces I've purchased, or been given as birthday presents, in the last couple weeks...

Amy of Alyssa and Amy from East Coast Clad had the amazing idea of pairing neon hot pink lips with B&W. You can bet I'm going to try this look ASAP! Adorable.
