With the weather getting cooler there are two things that you definitely must add back into your life and fall routine... game day food and a signature sweater.

This sweater dress, which I found at Goodwill last fall, will forever be one of my favorite finds. It's so cozy and comfy, and looks perfect with a cute heeled bootie. I'm a little obsessed with it. Here's how I styled it last year...
And here's how I styled it this morning before work! Similar, but some electric blue eye makeup instead of the color block with a scarf, and a little pattern with some striped socks. So cozy! (via instagram) ...
Socks, Target. Boots, Forever 21.

Isn't that just so stylish yet sleepy? I love a lazy day outfit. Oh and speaking of lazy days... the other day, as I was laying on the couch watching the Panthers game, I started craving some game day food. I knew I wanted something hot and preferably some type of dip (my favorite), but I wanted it to be healthy, so I whipped up my own version of paleo hot spinach dip. So delicious! Here's the recipe...
Spicy Spinach & Caramelized Onion Dip

Ingredients
-1 bag of spinach
-1 tablespoon EVOO
-1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
-salt and pepper

-1 yellow onion
-2 teaspoons olive oil

-1 avocado
-1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
-1 teaspoon hot sauce
-1 tablespoon spicy mustard
-1/3 cup coconut milk
-1 tablespoon creamy tahini dressing
-1 teaspoon pepper
-1 teaspoon salt
-1 teaspoon lemon juice

What To Do
In a large skillet, saute a large chopped yellow onion with 2 teaspoons of olive oil until caramelized and golden. Dump into a food processor. Add 1 chopped avocado, red pepper flakes, hot sauce, spicy mustard, coconut milk, tahini, pepper, salt, and lemon juice. Pulse and blend until slightly smooth.

In the same skillet, saute 1 bag of spinach with 1 tablespoon of EVOO, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder and desired salt and pepper until completely cooked and wilted. Add spinach to the food processor and blend with other ingredients. Add salt and pepper to the completed dip, to taste.

Pour dip into an oven safe bowl, and sprinkle the top with smoked paprika. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes at 375.

Eat with homemade sweet potato chips, sliced bell peppers or corn chips! Enjoy!

The other day my parents, twin sister and I had a fabulous day of shopping, great food, and fun memories! We started off the afternoon at Whole Foods for lunch. Do ya'll ever eat there? I swear I could eat at that place every single day and never get tired of it. Countless choices are gluten free, you have variety in everything from asian salads to italian meatloaf, and you can mix and match whatever you want. Not only that, but their coffee and smoothies are great too!

After lunch we made our way to one of my favorite Charlotte hangouts... the mall, of course! I had been eyeing this patriotic scarf for a while now, and fortunately for me I snatched up the last one they had out on display! We had such a great time listening to holiday music on the loud speakers, spying kids sitting on Santa's lap, and seeing everyone out enjoying their weekend. I love this time of year!

Here's how I styled my new stars and stripes...
Top, Express. Boots, Steve Madden. Scarf, Fiore. Denim, Forever 21. Glasses, Urban Outfitters.

Also, yesterday my boyfriend and I were discussing our Christmas gifts and I came up with a new idea for giving back this season... for every one clothing item that I receive, I am going to donate two in return. I think it'll be a great way to give back to people in need while getting rid of items that I just don't utilize anymore. It'll be a happy holiday all around!

Hello bloggers! How was your Monday? Mine didn't go exactly as planned, but tomorrow is a new day! Recently I decided to grow my bangs out a little and try a middle part, what do you think?
It's not as flat as it will eventually become, but I think I like it! On an extra happy note, today I discovered that the Starbucks chocolate meringue cookie is gluten free. Um, I was so excited! If you haven't tried this cookie yet, you must go out and get one! Melty, gooey, and so delicious.
Speaking of sweets, are you a fan of peppermint bark? I'm obsessed. It is definitely one of my favorite holiday treats. Regardless of the season, I always have a craving for peppermint (it's refreshing and settles your stomach) but when it gets cold outside and Christmas decorations go up, my craving for homemade peppermint bark is through the roof! Yesterday I went to the grocery store and threw the ingredients into my cart with a huge smile on my face. I felt so festive and I couldn't wait to eat it! Here's the extremely simple recipe...

Homemade Peppermint Bark

WHAT YOU NEED

1 bag of white chocolate chips

1 bag of classic peppermints

Wax paper

WHAT YOU DO
Unwrap peppermints and place into double-bagged plastic bags. Crunch the peppermints up (I get intense and use a hammer) until they're smashed into little pieces. In a double boiler, melt the white chocolate chips until smooth. Pour in crushed peppermint and mix together. Once combined, pour the peppermint bark mixture onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper and spread until desired thinness. Place in the freezer for about 10 minutes or until completely frozen. Once it's hardened, remove the bark and break into small pieces.

Keep refridgerated and enjoy! Yum!

Happy Wednesday, readers!

This post is coming to you live from Greenville, home of the ECU Pirates! Ah how I love being back at my alma mater with my man and best friends! They make me so happy.

My "road-trip" ensemble yesterday. Slightly obsessed with my new black boots I bought for NYC.
Had to make a pit-stop at my "halfway there" Starbucks! Potato chips and a skinny hazelnut macchiato made for the perfect little snack.
Back with my man! It's crazy how much I love spending time with him! No matter what we do, we always have fun.

If you read my NYC Unveiled post, on Monday I told you that I was going to post a recipe for a gluten free dessert that I discovered... but while I'm tweaking and testing out my revised version, I'm going to share with ya'll another great treat! I discovered these adorable little chocolate peanut butter acorns the other day while skimming through my Facebook, and I knew I had to make them for my friends and boyfriend! Although they aren't gluten free, they look delicious and so festive for autumn!

Here's the simple recipe...

WHAT YOU NEED:
- Chocolate chips
- Mini Nutter-butter crackers
- Hershey kisses
- Chocolate icing

WHAT YOU DO:
Unwrap all your Hershey kisses and dump out all your Nutter-butters so you have an easy assembly line. What I did to make this process simple was lay out my crackers in rows on a flat cookie sheet. With a small spoon or butter knife, spread some chocolate icing on the flat side of the Nutter-butters. Once covered with icing, place a Hershey kiss (point side up, obviously) on top of the icing. Continue this process until all Nutter-butters and Hershey kisses are connected to create the bottom of the acorns.

After you've let these sit and dry for a little bit, repeat the process by using a tiny dot of chocolate icing to place a little chocolate chip on top of the Nutter-butters. This turns into the lid of the acorn! That is that, you guys.

So easy, right? Everyone told me that they tasted delicious, and I always loving bringing my friends something they can eat and enjoy during the holiday season! What is your favorite fall recipe?

Come back later this week for my revised gluten free treat!

I'm leaving today! I'm gonna be a part of it.... NEW YORK, NEW YORK!

Hello all! Today I'm flying off to The Big Apple for a fun and very exciting interview! I didn't even apply, they found me, so this whole experience is so thrilling and once-in-a-life-time! Even if I don't get the job (which I'm mentally preparing myself for, since this was so unexpected) I can't wait to tell you all about my trip and the amazing company I'm interviewing with! I know that God has an awesome plan for me... and I'm just so eager to see how it falls into place!

I'm not usually a big thrifter. I love Macklemore, I love retro clothes, but the hobby of hunting for vintage finds just isn't one I've adopted. I know trendsetters who do, one of my good friends can find amazing items in any thrift shop, but for some reason I'm just not one of those people! Maybe it's the fact that I can't really fit in "normal sized" clothes, but for the most part I seem to find my favorite items in retail stores!

Fortunately, the other day I stopped by a thrift shop and found this gem of a sweater. It's neutral aztec print with fringe all around the bottom. It's the not the most "flattering" item, (I had to cut the hefty shoulder pads out, you guys) but for 3.99 I just couldn't turn it down. I love the grungy, mountainy feel it has. I decided to style it with my Lord and Taylor motorcycle boots and an extra messy messy-bun. It took me about 2 seconds to throw this outfit together, but it sure felt comfortable and cozy in yesterdays cooler weather.

What is the best item you've ever found while thrifting? Show me how you style it! Stay tuned tomorrow for some photos of my gorgeous twin and her earthy ensemble!

One trend that is super hot for fall 2013 is black and white, and with my new job at Kate Spade it seems as if every single item I've been drawn to lately has fallen victim to this new fad!
The thing that I love most about this trend is how versatile it is. You can mix this newspaper palette with caramel browns, army greens, hot pinks, vibrant reds, burnt oranges, Tiffany blues... pretty much any color you already have in your closet. Walk into Forever 21 or Madewell in the next few weeks and I can promise you that the walls will be decked out in black and white. That's what the style is this season, ladies! Embrace this salt and pepper chicness, and stock up your wardrobe.

Here are some fun black and white pieces I've purchased, or been given as birthday presents, in the last couple weeks...

What is your favorite black and white look for autumn? Share a photo of how you styled the B&W trend and I'll add your lovely pic and a link to your blog right here! Can't wait to see how you rock it!

It Don't Matter If You're Black or White

The one thing I was looking forward to most about going to Montreal was the French food. I know that sounds crazy, but send some coffee and croissants my way and I am a happy camper! The authenticity of the French cuisine we tried while we were there was amazing. Cafe Au Lait, chocolate croissants, savory crepes, pistachio pastries, flaky baguettes, foamy lattes...you name it, we probably ate it. My twin sister and I are obsessive about cute coffee shops, so we made sure to find some must-try stops every morning for breakfast. Let me just say, I ate enough bread to feed a small family.

Also, I apologize for how often I wear these Brandy Melville shorts. They are definitely my new go-to and they are just way too easy to throw on. Oops!

Um yes, okay, I'll take one large order of fall weather please?

It feels absolutely glorious here today. I'm talking mid-70's, people. It's amazing! If there is one thing that can transform my mood it's cool, crisp, low-humidity air. Bring it on!

Just last week I got back from an awesome vacation to the North West (ha-ha, Kardashian baby). We traveled from Portland to Cannon Beach, Cannon Beach to Seattle, and Seattle to Vancouver! Not only were the sites spectacular, but the weather was perfect. That is one thing I could get used to! Throw some autumn air my way. I got to break out my boots, sweaters, and long sleeve shirts and I loved every second of it. Fall fashion is my all-time favorite.

Here is one outfit I wore while savoring the sweet taste of autumn...

(Seattle)
Urban Outfitters glasses, Victoria Secret Green Cardigan, H&M Blue Cardigan, CC Necklace, H&M Top, Brandy Melville Shorts, DSW Combat Boots

One of my favorite things about visiting Seattle was going to the original Starbucks! Like I said in my bio, I am an INTENSE Starbucks addict. Like I think I need help. I would buy it every single day (which I actually, pretty much, kind of do already) if I could afford to. When I walked inside and caught a whiff of the delicious scent of espresso, I was in coffee heaven.

Doesn't that hazelnut macchiato look to-die for? I know this may sound crazy, but to me it tasted extra delectable coming from the original Starbucks!

Anywho, this morning I went to my usual salon and got my bangs freshly chopped. I love how something as simple as cutting your bangs can make you feel as if you have a whole new hair style! Hooray for simplicity!

Hello, Blog World!

It is so great to be here on this lovely Monday morning! I have been anxiously anticipating the moment when my new and improved website could launch, and now the time has finally arrived.

It feels wonderful!

Over the last few years my “Trendy Lindy” name (props to my dad for the creative title) has developed into my own personal brand, right alongside my life changes and growth as a person. With a college degree under my belt and my hands dirty with past fashion experiences, I’m ready to really begin my blogging adventure!

I hope that many of my readers will visit my site, not just to see what I wear from day to day, but also to have some fun, gain inspiration, create many new friendships, and, more so than not, glean some personal style tips.

If there is one thing I’ve realized after graduating and fighting my way into the fashion industry, it’s that my field of dreams is way more expansive than I ever imagined. It stretches, spans and extends all the way from my Charlotte roots to the tips of the buildings in the NYC skyline. While it may be a lengthy hike, and one that is worn down from countless pairs of pumps and penny loafers making the trek, I am not going to stop until I surpass the top… and that is where ya’ll come in!

This little blog may not gain millions of followers or lead the list of most popular reads on Bloglovin’… but it’s a place for me to share my life with you! A place where I can come to document how my future is unfolding right before my eyes. A virtual diary that you are free to read whenever you feel the need, and one that I can look back on when I get where I want to be!

So with all that in mind, and with my boots deep in the soil of the “unknown,” you better be ready to hold on tight, trendsetters.

Here goes nothing!
Alloy blouse (n/a) similar here, Vintage belt, Brandy Melville shorts, Lord & Taylor boots (n/a) similar here, Bracelets (n/a).

By the way, be sure to explore all of the links located at the top of my blog to get to know me better!
