Hello everyone and happy hump day! How are you handling the cold weather? Brrrrrrr. Definitely the perfect temps for a cozy beanie and some comfort food!
Tonight I tried two absolutely amazing Pinterest recipes. I mean, I've tried online recipes before, but these two were exceptionally good. My mom always works late on Wednesdays so I thought it would be nice to take the task off her hands and have dinner ready when she got off work. I'm so thankful for two hard working parents, and for the free living and food they provide me while I'm searching for a job, so I try and pitch in wherever I can!

Tonight I made Dijon Chicken and Mushroom Linguine with gluten free spaghetti noodles and a giant plate of sauteed veggies. It was so delicious I can't even put it into words. I loved it so much I wanted to share it with you! Here are both of the recipes, with my little tweaks... (pictures via Pinterest)

The only thing I changed about this chicken recipe was substituting linguine with gluten free spaghetti noodles. Other than that I stuck with the original and seriously loved it.

For this vegetable recipe I left out the feta cheese (more calories, I guess?) and added zucchini and squash. The tomatoes I used were 3 sliced roma tomatoes and about 10 sliced cherry tomatoes. I also added a little garlic powder with the salt and pepper! To-die-for.

What's your favorite recipe you've discovered via Pinterest? Let me know and I can whip it up for my parents to try! Maybe I'll even wash the dishes, too!? ...

Give Dinner A Go.

Happy Monday! I'm finally back home after a week away. Time for Christmas shopping, family time, celebrating with close friends and simple holiday festivities!

I had the best time in Greenville. My boyfriend's journey towards graduation hit a little bump in the road, but everything we go through together makes our relationship that much stronger. I don't know what I'd do without him! A surprise hug as I try and take a #OOTN picture for Instagram turned into one of the best pictures I've taken recently, even if it's a little fuzzy!
In other news, here are a few things that I'm wishing I could add to my wish list this year...

1) Nasty Gal - Kissell Plaid Coat: I love plaid for fall and winter. It is such a cozy print!

2) Aldo - Rusova Ankle Boot: Ankle boots are my new bff. Tucked into boyfriend jeans with some bunched up socks? Yes please.

3) ily Couture - Mixed Stone Necklace: Chunky statement necklaces are the go-to jewelry accessory these days and this one has the ideal mix of festive colors.

4) Asos - Wool Mix Short Cable Beanie: I'm a hat connoisseur. I think I just like accessories that frame my face. Hats, turbans, glasses, sunglasses, you name it and I'd wear it.

What are you asking for this Christmas?

Wishin' & Hopin'

When I was little my family used to go pick out a real Christmas tree together every year. We would all pile into the car, make our way to the tree lot, and search until we found the right one. My parents always had the final say, but it was the tradition and festivity that we loved most! The smell of the fresh pine, the cool air that made your cheeks rosy and flushed, and the adventure of finding the star of the show was just so exciting to us.

As all the kids grew older and the mystery of the holiday faded just a little bit,  my parents decided to get a fake tree for our home. Looking at it from an adult perspective, I can definitely see how it is easier and much more practical. I really don't mind our fake tree! It is just as beautiful, just as magical, and just as fun as a regular tree... but I know that once I get my own house I will fall back to the real ones! I want to start the same tradition with my children that I enjoyed when I was young. I still get excited when I see a parking lot filling up with twinkle lights and trees of all different shapes and sizes, like I saw today! The holidays are upon us, and I'm soaking up every little minute of it!
