Hello bloggers! How was your Monday? Mine didn't go exactly as planned, but tomorrow is a new day! Recently I decided to grow my bangs out a little and try a middle part, what do you think?
It's not as flat as it will eventually become, but I think I like it! On an extra happy note, today I discovered that the Starbucks chocolate meringue cookie is gluten free. Um, I was so excited! If you haven't tried this cookie yet, you must go out and get one! Melty, gooey, and so delicious.
Speaking of sweets, are you a fan of peppermint bark? I'm obsessed. It is definitely one of my favorite holiday treats. Regardless of the season, I always have a craving for peppermint (it's refreshing and settles your stomach) but when it gets cold outside and Christmas decorations go up, my craving for homemade peppermint bark is through the roof! Yesterday I went to the grocery store and threw the ingredients into my cart with a huge smile on my face. I felt so festive and I couldn't wait to eat it! Here's the extremely simple recipe...

Homemade Peppermint Bark

WHAT YOU NEED

1 bag of white chocolate chips

1 bag of classic peppermints

Wax paper

WHAT YOU DO
Unwrap peppermints and place into double-bagged plastic bags. Crunch the peppermints up (I get intense and use a hammer) until they're smashed into little pieces. In a double boiler, melt the white chocolate chips until smooth. Pour in crushed peppermint and mix together. Once combined, pour the peppermint bark mixture onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper and spread until desired thinness. Place in the freezer for about 10 minutes or until completely frozen. Once it's hardened, remove the bark and break into small pieces.

Keep refridgerated and enjoy! Yum!

Okay so I just have too much to say and too little time to say it, today...

So I'm postponing my trip details until Monday! I just want to let everyone know that it doesn't particularly matter, per-se, about whether or not I got "the job" that you are all wondering about. It's about how happy I am with the outcome! I left the city with such a positive and hopeful outlook, that I know I will have for weeks or months to come! I am more than pleased. A door has a cracked open very wide, it's just a matter of waiting for the time to come when it completely throws itself open. The opportunity I just encountered was amazing, and I wouldn't change it for the world!
Come back and visit late afternoon on Monday for the details!

OH Wait...

Hope all of you are having a fantastic Saturday! Incase you didn't get a chance to check it out yesterday, today I'm sharing my guest post via Summers in Seersucker! Hope you enjoy...

First off I want to say thank you so much to Megan for letting me guest blog! I love her site and her style, for someone of 16. Don't you? If you haven't yet, be sure to check out her guest post on my blog yesterday! (2 days ago) Anywho...

With pumpkins on every porch and the scent of turkey and Christmas trees gradually wafting our way, there's one particular item that is a "must-add" to your wardrobe... a sweater. It sounds simple, right? Oh no big deal, let me just go to the mall and pick one out. Wrong. Very, very wrong. The daunting task of picking out the perfect sweater this time of year is overwhelming. How can you narrow down your choices with so many amazing options!?

elbow patches or no elbow patches?

stripes or polka dots?

neutral or bright?

crew-neck or v-neck?

graphic print or solid?

long sleeve or fourth sleeve?

cropped or tunic?

cashmere or wool?

The list goes on and on, people! So today I'm going to give you four easy options, just incase you're in a sweater-rut this season. Hopefully one of them will suit your style!

1) J.Crew Camel Sweater - What's the nativity scene without the oh-so-recognizable camel? Not only does it combine neutral tones with a fun graphic print, but it's also extremely versatile! Pair it with some patterned pants any day of the week, and you're J.Crew model status.
2) ASOS Elastic Cross-back Sweater Dress- Just because you're wearing a big cozy sweater doesn't mean you can't look glamorous. This ASOS dress is the perfect way to stay comfortable and chic. Black, backless, and ideal for cooler weather!
3) Nasty Gal Rush Knit Sweater- I've already mentioned in previous posts how much I love plaid for fall. It's pretty much the most "mountainy, jumping-in-leaves, hiking, cocoa-drinking" print around. I love it in almost every color, but red and black is a classic that'll always be number one in my book.
4) Madewell Wafflestitch Colorblock Sweater- One of my favorite looks is the "baseball tee" look. Different color sleeves with a solid body is extremely chic! Don't you know that the baseball fad is in right now? Throw on a Yankees cap and hit the streets!

Which one is your favorite? If you pick one out and feel the urge to order, share a picture with us! We'd love to see it! Be sure to follow my blog at www.TrendyLindy.com! Thank you again, Megan!

Do ya'll like smoothies? I have always loved them. They are just so refreshing and satisfying to me! I love fruit and I love shakes and I love being healthy. My new obsession is the Double Green smoothie from Whole Foods. Oh my word, let me just tell you, it is delicious. It's made up of kale, spinach, bananas, mixed berries and almond milk. It may sound weird, but it's good for you and super tasty. I may try and recreate it, myself!

The other day before work I stopped by Whole Foods, which is conveniently located right next to a fellow bloggers apartment, where I picked up a smoothie and did some modeling for my blog. Pattern mixing is such a fun trend right now, and although I wouldn't consider myself a "Kate Spadey" girl, I loved what I did with this look! So simple, comfortable and chic! What do you think? Are stripes and polka dots new BFF's?

You tell me!

Hello, Blog World!

It is so great to be here on this lovely Monday morning! I have been anxiously anticipating the moment when my new and improved website could launch, and now the time has finally arrived.

It feels wonderful!

Over the last few years my “Trendy Lindy” name (props to my dad for the creative title) has developed into my own personal brand, right alongside my life changes and growth as a person. With a college degree under my belt and my hands dirty with past fashion experiences, I’m ready to really begin my blogging adventure!

I hope that many of my readers will visit my site, not just to see what I wear from day to day, but also to have some fun, gain inspiration, create many new friendships, and, more so than not, glean some personal style tips.

If there is one thing I’ve realized after graduating and fighting my way into the fashion industry, it’s that my field of dreams is way more expansive than I ever imagined. It stretches, spans and extends all the way from my Charlotte roots to the tips of the buildings in the NYC skyline. While it may be a lengthy hike, and one that is worn down from countless pairs of pumps and penny loafers making the trek, I am not going to stop until I surpass the top… and that is where ya’ll come in!

This little blog may not gain millions of followers or lead the list of most popular reads on Bloglovin’… but it’s a place for me to share my life with you! A place where I can come to document how my future is unfolding right before my eyes. A virtual diary that you are free to read whenever you feel the need, and one that I can look back on when I get where I want to be!

So with all that in mind, and with my boots deep in the soil of the “unknown,” you better be ready to hold on tight, trendsetters.

Here goes nothing!

By the way, be sure to explore all of the links located at the top of my blog to get to know me better!
